World Class Manufacturing
BM Catalysts manufactures from two facilities in the UK, which cover a total of 143,000 square feet. In just over a decade the company has invested over £10 million in the latest technology and production techniques to ensure it retains its reputation as supplying the highest quality aftermarket catalytic converters, DPF’s and front pipes in the industry. These standards are made possible through the use of cutting edge CNC machinery, precision robot welding equipment and advanced canning lines that give BM Catalysts complete control over its sub-component manufacture, supply chain and, therefore, the quality of its products. This commitment is evidenced by ISO:9001 accreditation and winning the Manufacturing Excellence category at the 2012 Family Business awards.
The latest major investment made by BM Catalysts was the purchase of its new Fulwood Rise plant, and subsequent installation of some of the most hi-tec machinery used in the automotive aftermarket. This includes the latest CNC, plasma and robotic technologies.
The sub-component plant at Fulwood Rise will become fully operational by the end of 2013, further enabling the company to increase self-reliance and flexibility, while at the same time driving further efficiencies into the business. The significant investment into the facility has seen Belton Massey take much more control of its supply chain, and in the process become far more flexible.
Advanced Materials and Technology
Advanced technology utilised at the new Fulwood Rise facility includes the latest flat bed plasma cutters, CNC lathes and milling machines, and robotic precision welders.
Fulwood Rise is also home to our newly developed canning line, giving us greater control on design and quality.
These machines and their skilled operatives will, amongst other things, be used to create the soon-to-be-launched Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) range of components, and the increasingly popular precision engineered Premium Range.
BM Catalysts boasts industry leading levels of quality. This stems from a policy of continuous investment in the latest technology, extensive materials sourcing programmes and close control of the supply chain. The company uses 409 grade stainless steel in many of its components, therefore guaranteeing some of the best performing and long lasting parts on the aftermarket.
As well as using the best materials possible, advanced techniques such as 1D bending, CNC plasma cutting and robot welding means that everything from subcomponents to finished products are designed to ensure the best possible quality and fit. Unique pin-stamp serial numbers give total traceability of material sources and individual staff involvement, which all combines to ensure market leading performance in terms of low defect rates, ISO:9001 accreditation and 103R homologation on the catalytic converters.
BM Catalysts are an ISO9001 registered company, which we gained back in May 2005. We are constantly striving to improve our systems in order to provide products and services of a high quality.
